We can’t always predict the future. If you are running a business, marketing is essential to maintain continued relationship with your new and existing customers. Here’s what to expect for your 2025 digital marketing needs.

SMS AND MMS TEXT MARKETING

With the 2024 US elections over, it has taught all of us one thing. We cannot escape from barrage of SMS messages sent by our local politicians. Carriers don’t usually block these numbers as they are tended for use in election campaigns. But if you have a legitimate customer database, mass texting will give you the highest visibility if done properly. Obviously, nobody wants to be inundated with spam texts. There are ways to approach your customers with a warm verbiage using first person such as “Hi <first name>”. And with an attached well designed digital MMS flyer, your message can get even more amplified to your targeted audience. What’s that saying “A picture speaks a thousand words.”

EMAIL MARKETING

As of July 2024, Google’s Gmail, Microsoft’s Outlook, and Yahoo have been cracking down on spammers, requiring senders to verify their email servers with an additional layer of verification using SPF and DKIM records. In addition, email receivers are filtering spammers using DMARC. If you are sending legitimate emails, it may be going into your existing customers spam or junk folders without these verification records in place. Most mass email marketing providers such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp have these verification records in place and helped their customers follow the newly required guidelines set by the top 3 email providers. To ensure highest email deliverability into your customers main inbox, be sure to set your SPF and DKIM records on your domain name. Talk to one of our email experts to see if your SPF and DKIM records are in place.

FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM

After Apple introduced the “Do Not Track” settings on Safari and iOS Apps, 50% of consumers suddenly got more privacy therefore destroying the tracking pixel link that allows social media platforms and apps to monitor your what sites you’ve visited. So Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta had to get more creative. At DWD, we have noticed our Facebook and Instagram Ads received more engagement. We believe Meta’s investment into Llama AI, gave them more insights into how customers behave on Facebook, Instagram. Data is the new oil.

STREAMING PLATFORMS

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then a video should speak a million, right? We all know YouTube has dominated the streaming wars where an average user watch 48 mins per day. With all other streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus taking a page out of YouTube’s advertising dominance, more and more fortune 500 companies are diverting their marketing budget towards these platforms. But as you know, small businesses are on a budget and most of these streaming platforms don’t generate the desired audience needed to purchase their products or services. That’s where influencers come, helping get your products and services get noticed to a niche audience. In 2025, it’s predicted more small businesses will create their own YouTube channel, giving the owners more control over their targeted audience.

GOOGLE IS STILL THE KING

When it comes to search engines, Google still dominates in the PPC advertising. According to Statista, in July 2024, Google’s Chrome makes up 65% of all browser search traffic - with Safari coming in 2nd at 18%. What about Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Samsung? They make up 5%, 2.7%, and 2.5% respectively. And by default most of these browsers have set Google as its primary search engine. So it’s important not to eliminate Google PPC and Display Ads from your marketing budget. If you want actual customers, you can never go wrong with Google Ads.
